Project Coordinators of European Commission (EC)-funded research and innovation projects can now benefit from up to 40,000 credits to use within the EOSC EU Node. These credits can be used throughout the project’s duration to access trusted, EU-hosted services that support data-driven and collaborative research.
What the EOSC EU Node offers
The EOSC EU Node, the first European-level node of the EOSC Federation, provides a secure and interoperable environment where researchers can store, share, analyse, and process data. Accessible by simply logging in with your home institution’s credentials, it enables project teams to use a wide range of integrated services, including:
Data Management:
- File Sync & Share Your personal cloud storage and online document editing suite for collaborative research
- Interactive notebooks A shared space for coding and analysis
- Large File Transfer Fast and secure file transfers between users
Cloud Computing:
- Virtual Machines Scalable cloud computing and storage for reliable and reproducible results
- Cloud Container Platform Simplified Kubernetes for scalable research and automated application deployment
- Bulk Data Transfer Smooth high-volume data transfers into the underlying infrastructure
FAIR resources:
- Tools Hub Your central space for discovering and using research applications that run directly on EOSC EU Node infrastructure
- Resource Hub Your catalogue to discover European research outputs; publications, data, software and services (can also be browsed without login)
How to obtain a credit grant
Each EC-funded project may receive a one-time credit grant (up to 40,000 credits) to support its research and innovation activities. The grant is allocated to a single Group Project created by the Project Coordinator (Group Owner) on the EOSC EU Node and remains available for the full duration of the project.
To request the credit grant, the Project Coordinator simply submits a request for a credit voucher via the User Space (User profile drop-down menu -> Credits option -> Credit voucher actions) for an active EOSC EU Node Group Project indicating:
- The Grant Agreement ID
- EC Project Officer
- A concise description of intended use of EOSC EU Node services
In case the Project Coordinator is not attributed as Investigator per their access policy, they can request to be elevated to this level via submitting a Helpdesk ticket, or they may delegate the creation of the group to another member of the project (also via submitting a Helpdesk ticket).
After evaluation and validation of the request and depending on the available resources of the EOSC EU Node, the credit grant is allocated to the indicated Group Project’s wallet. Requests for higher and/or additional credit grants will be reviewed on a case-by-case and best-effort basis (i.e. not guaranteed).
Visit the EOSC EU Node to explore available services and log in to your User Space to submit your request for your project’s credit grant today.
Visit our Learning Center to explore the services, tools, and features of the EOSC EU Node, and complete the recommended certifications and learning paths before beginning your engagement, as this will help ensure a smoother and more effective use of the platform.
