A year after its launch, the EOSC EU Node continues to evolve through close interaction with its users and community. Guided by continuous user and community feedback, the Node is adapting its services and policies to make access to European research resources more intuitive, transparent, and inclusive. These updates reflect the commitment of the European Commission to build a user-centred, trusted environment within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Federation.
Updated user interface and User Space
The EOSC EU Node now features a redesigned User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) within the User Space, created to make research management simpler and more intuitive. The new environment is easier to navigate, offering clear information on user and service status, groups, projects, orders and credits, together with guidance throughout the process. Users can manage all activities efficiently from within a dashboard, from data storage and notebooks to computing environments and collaborative workspaces.

Revised User Access Policy (UAP)
The updated UAP introduces several important changes to improve user experience and resource management within the EOSC EU Node:
Credit allocations have almost doubled across all access groups, now offering 1,000 credits for Collaborators, 2,000 credits for Investigators and 6,000 credits for Groups.
The compute environment t-shirt sizes have also been increased up to 16 vCPUs and 64 GB RAM in the middle tier. Together with the increased credit allocations, users are now enabled to run up to 4 vCPU and 16 GB machines continuously 24/7 under Group projects for production-like workflows.

Credit grants for European Commission-funded projects
Recipients of EC-funded research and innovation projects can claim up to 40,000 credits, supporting open science from the start. These grants give project consortia and principal investigators immediate access to computing, storage and collaborative tools within the EOSC environment, helping them plan, share and reuse research outputs efficiently throughout their project lifecycle.

Enhanced File Sync & Share service provision
The File Sync & Share service now uses a “subscribe once, automatically renew” model, removing the need for users to manually reactivate or extend their subscriptions. Once the service is set up, credits are deducted automatically over time. This model ensures continuous access to storage and easier management of resources for users.

Access for the Joint Research Centre (JRC)
JRC researchers are now automatically assigned the Investigator access level, giving them direct use of the full range of EOSC EU Node services. This provision recognises the role of JRC as the scientific service of the European Commission and supports its mission to deliver evidence-based research using advanced digital tools.
Other personnel of the European Commission remain under the Collaborator access level.
Refreshed documentation and guidance
The EOSC EU Node now comes with clearer documentation that speaks directly to users. The new materials focus on practical guidance, explaining how each service works, how credits are used and how to make the most of the collaborative tools in the Node. This more direct approach helps users find answers quickly and understand how services fit into their workflows. The documentation is complemented by tutorials and courses available through the EOSC EU Node Learning Center, supporting researchers in building skills and confidence as they engage with the platform.

These changes demonstrate the commitment behind the EOSC EU Node to listen, improve and evolve with its community, creating a smoother and more efficient experience for all users. As part of the EOSC Federation, the Node will continue expanding providing further access to datasets and services from trusted third parties, offering researchers access a broader range of tools and resources to advance open, collaborative and data-driven research.
